Those times

It was sort of an awkward week, let us count the ways:
  • That time I was diligently flossing my teeth at my desk in the lobby when a large group of suit clad gentlemen walked through the sliding doors. Me in plain view.

  • That time a nice young fellow sat down at my table for lunch (obviously assuming I was single and ready to mingle) only for me to talk his ear off about Adam. ("Oh yeah my HUSBAND likes that band, my HUSBAND graduated from that department...etc, etc")

  • That time (or should I say those times...all those many times) I meant to say have a good/great day and it came out "have a grood one."

  • That time I was belting Adele in my car at a red light only to look over to find at a mesmerized group of young ladies. Five sets of judgemental eyes locked on me.

  • That time I nodded intently though an entire class.

  • That time I legit cried at my desk when reading various birth stories on blogs this week (like this one are you kidding me? how sweet are they?)

  • That time I yelled at the FASFA lady, via instant message. All caps folks, all caps.

Wish me better luck next week.

Baby Shower

Best friend Tess and her husband are expecting. So our closest friends since forever (Jr. High...and before) got together, with our cute moms and had a yummy dinner and celebrated Tess and the little guy that will be here soon!

We ate at Cafe Trio which, as per usual, was divine. My new favorite there is the pasta carbonara - but if you try it be prepared, it's rich and heavenly. And creamy. And cheesy. And bacony.
And fattening. So that's good.

Tess got lots of cute stuff. Elephants seemed to be an unconscious theme of the night, which was awesome. And I got to feel the little guy swimmin' around in there!

Overall a wonderful night spent with girls I love and their amazing moms.

Today

Today I went to the eye doctor.
I had been once before.
When I was 13.
My vision has progressively gotten worse.
Let's just say maybe I shouldn't have been driving for the last 7 years.
Maybe I'm slightly blind.
The doctor put these drops in my eyes that made them dilate.
It wasn't fun.
Have you experience this?
Being outdoors in the light was mostly uncomfortable.
Hence, the sunglasses.
After my appointment that guy I'm married to took me to Wendys.
Chicken nuggets and lemonade made me feel better.

Over all it was a good day.
And I can see again, so that's good.

The Hedge

Pouring rain + overgrown hedge + these two = this photo

(Adam and his brother Scott)

We took a little trip up to Idaho to visit Grandma and Grandpa Andersons this weekend.
And to attack the hedge that so desperately needed trimming. Unfortunately it poured rain the entire time, but we (they) pressed on with the yard work.

Poor guy - look at that face. He still smells faintly of pine.
So that's good.
