Three

Today, three years ago I married Adam.
It was a magical, whirlwind of a day.
It was beautiful and warm, and all the people I love in the world were there supporting us.
I though my heart couldn't get any more full than it was on that day, but I'm slowly learning that it continues to grow, day by day, year by year, with each anniversary I have somehow fallen more in love with that guy I married back in 2010.

This year we traveled a lot, met new friends, I followed my dream to culinary school, Adam graduated from college and found a job he loves, and so much more.

I don't know what year four will have in store for us, and that's ok, because I do know that I will have Adam by my side and that's all I really need.

Love Day Equation

This:
 Plus this:
Plus this:
 Plus this:
Plus this:

Made for one happy Valentines day.
We had a romantic evening in with candles and homemade gifts and tasty things to eat.

Happy Valentines Day!

My Valentine

He sings Ingrid Michelson with me in the car, he helps me shape rolls, he wears scarfs because I like them, he's supportive, he pretends to care about what happened on the latest episode of chopped, he buys me shoes and chocolate chip cookies, he makes me laugh and tells me he loves me everyday, he brings out the very best in me, he is my best friend and I am so glad that he's mine.
I wouldn't want to celebrate this day of love with anyone else.

Today he is my Valentine, but then I guess he is everyday.

Happy Valentines Day - I hope you celebrate it with the ones you love

An evening at Lagoon

Adam and I had the chance to go to lagoon this weekend for my company party. We rode roller coasters, and ate hot dogs and finished off the night on the Ferris wheel.

It was a great night out with my love.

Labor day and Tie Dyed Mountains

The holiday weekend in our home was very relaxed. We slept in everyday till 10. Zucchini bread was made. Swimming was done. Movies were watched (finally saw Avengers). And the motorbike was taken out for a spin.
Seemingly over night it has become autumn in Utah. The leaves are changing, and soon the mountains will be ablaze in reds and oranges and yellows. But right now before the full fledged change has occurred the mountains are more tie-dyed if you will. The colors pop here and there and it's spectacular. Such a beautiful time of year. We took a long, relaxing drive up a local canyon today to bask in the splendor of early fall.
Hope you had a great Monday off!

Summer Theater at Sundance

It's no secret that I'm a HUGE fan of musicals (my favorite movie is Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, for crying out loud). On the screen or live I'm never one to turn down a good musical. One of my favorite places to experience my favorite art form is at Sundance in the summer time. Every summer they partner up with UVU's theater department and put on an extraordinary show. This year they put on one of my favorites (Adam's too) 7 Brides for 7 Brothers. And holy cow it was a good show.

We grabbed dinner and met up with my family for a good night of country fun. The play was wonderful and the cast was extremely talented. We had a ball,  singing, laughing, crying (mom...apparently "glad that you were born" is a tough song to get through without bawling, if your a mom). Afterwards we went on the moonlight lift ride and husband and I whispered sweet nothings to each other in between kisses. We had a great night.
This is such a fun tradition. We love #Summertheatre at Sundance!

Year two

Two years can seem like a long time when life is dull and uninteresting, or in my case if I wasn't married to my husband. Today we've been married two years. And time has flown. We've continued to learn life lessons, and have grown to love each other more and more everyday. Today I am more in love with him than I ever have been. Our motto  has continued to remain the most important, and most helpful piece of advice we've ever received. Marriage is an adventure and in year three that won't change. We'll continue to try new things, and fall in love.
Happy Anniversary to us.

My Husband

Sometimes I wonder how I got so lucky to be married to Adam. He is funny, and intelligent, and handsome, and is now a college graduate. I don't think I could be more proud. He has worked so hard. So many late nights. So many papers. So many classes and professors. So many pep talks. And finally he's reached the end of his BYU undergraduate education. The end of another chapter in his life. On the brink an exciting new path.

I am so proud of you Adam, and am really looking forward to what is in store for us in the future.

St. Patricks Day

Neither of us wore anything green, there was no corned beef or cabbage, no Irish soda bread, no restaurant with an O' or a Mc at the beginning of the name.

Just this cute guy a bar b que chicken pizza, a spinach salad, and some March Maddness

you are the cheese to my macaroni

you are the horizon to my sky

you are the bacon to my eggs

you are the laces to my sneakers

you are the jelly to my peanut butter

you are the smile to my face

you are the gravy to my mashed potatoes

you are the bubbles to my bath

you are the milk to my cookie

you are the ink to my pen

you are the ketchup to my french fries

you are the water to my ocean

you are the icing on my cupcake

this is the first picture I ever saw of Adam. I was sold. Immediately.

Can I just gush for a minute?

I'm just super grateful for him.

And I think he's pretty neat.

Monday Night

On Monday night it rained,

But I didn't mind because I paid $5 for this:

The Texas Twist: worth both the rain and the ridiculously high price

And then this happened:

In all of it's greasy goodness

Behold the funnel cake:

Powdered Sugar + Rain + Grease = Spanish Fork Fair

After all of the culinary delights we went here:

the carnival

and rode this:

then we made out, as if we were 13, and "Going Out" it was presh.

we ended with this:
a 70 minute late fireworks extravaganza.

On Monday night it rained,

and I had a fantastic night with my honey.

Lately....

I made a chocolate cheesecake...weighing in at, at least 34 pounds.

Em's became my favorite Restaurant...yet again.

Because I got this

(pine nuts, Gorgonzola, chicken, asparagus, mashed potatoes, heaven)

In other food news, I roasted my first chicken.

(Lemons, rosemary, garlic, butter, holy holy chicken)

Husb and I celebrated one year of marriage here

He bought me a new dress

He's afraid of heights

Friends and I celebrated Tess at a bridal shower held in her honor

And then she was married...go her.

(and Kimball, go both of them.)

Lately life has been busy, with school, work and new projects and tasks that I'm never sure we'll figure out how to accomplish, but somehow always do. The mantra as of late has been

"One Thing at a Time"

The more overwhelming things get the more that is repeated in my mind.

One semester at a time, one day at a time, one hour at a time, even a minute at a time

Anyone can get through a minute...right?

I guess that's refreshing?

Crazieness

April has been a hectic, busy, crazy month for me and Adam and (I hate to say it) I am super looking forward to May's comforting arms to take me in this weekend. It hasn't been bad just lots of good stuff going on, just busy you know?

I hope you know.

It will make me feel better if you know too...you know?

Ok I'm done.

So I'm not blogging right now to tell you about all of the busyness, I am actually blogging to remind you (and me) of the best day of my life.

A year ago today I was married to Adam. Isn't that crazy?

It's crazy.

This has been the most educational, most amazing year of my life. It certainly hasn't been the easiest, but it has been the happiest.

After one year as a married woman I wouldn't say that I am a professional by any means but I feel like there are few things I've learned that will stick with me for life. One of those things being that dirty socks have many homes...none of them being the hamper, and that even if I buy a towel rack the wet towels still get hung on the door, lamp, etc.

The most important thing that I'd say that I've learned this year that has helped me and Adam the most in "tricky" situation is this quote by President Monson:

"Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved."

This bit of advice has applied to us more than any other we've received. I couldn't even count the number of times Adam or I have repeated these words to one another and the problem seems to virtually disappear.

I am so grateful for my husband. For my marriage. For the Temple. For this Gospel.

Happy One Year Anniversary to me and my sweetheart.

Like it was yesterday...

A little over a year ago Adam was so excited to give me a Christmas present, I, too was excited because I was pretty positive that my gift was going to be small, and sparkly, and was going to come in a little box. Much to my surprise my that December morning when Adam finally unveiled what my Christmas gift was I was much less than enthusiastic. In fact it was nearly impossible for me to fake excitement - a ride in a hot air balloon? Really? REALLY?

All I wanted was an engagement ring.

Obviously I didn't know how our ride through the Park City sky was going to end.

The ride lasted about 40 minutes, as we were coming down to land Adam asked our pilot to record us in the balloon together. After some confusion Adam tells me to "look over there" and on the ground about 500ft below us was a sign saying "will you marry me?"

I melted.

I watch this video almost weekly, it's so amazing and I'm so glad that Adam was able to have the pilot get this footage of us in the balloon, (even with my objections, "this is so dumb and awkward, why don't we just take some still photos?" I believe were my exact words).

Watching this brings back so many of those feelings that I felt in that moment and reminds me why I'm sitting next to this big guy right now on our couch, in our home watching a
football game.

I love him.

Cruisemas

This year we had a bit of an unconventional Christmas. There was no snow, or fireplaces, or home cooked meals...

However

There was this...

and this...

and this...

and this

It was glorious, 10 days filled to the brim with sandy beaches, card games till all hours in the night and all those midnight soft serve/french fry runs.

heaven. on. earth.

Now the harsh reality of snowy road conditions and waking up early is forcing the 85 degree weather in the bahamas into the past, leaving me with only a memory.

A memory that could very well turn into a return plane ticket to St. Thomas if my finger dares click the mouse.

Once upon a time...

We went to the festival of the trees...

For this cute girls birthday...

And this was my favorite tree...

Then I found this Gingerbread house, it made me want to quit every thing and open a gingerbread house making factory...
Then I got depressed because I knew I was being ridiculous...

So to ease my woes we went here and I ate this...
and I was all better

Yay.

Happy Birthday momma!!!
